| Found a great piece explaining the Jazz options when it comes to extending the contracts of their veterans... http://www.slcdunk.com/2012/10/24/3546102/extension-junction-whats-your-functionWhen it comes to the guys on rookie contracts they can only be extended after 3 years in the league, so next summer will be the year for Favors and Hayward, and the year after for Kanter and Burks. But even if those guys don't extend, they still belong to the Jazz for a minimum of 4 years before becoming restricted free agents. Carroll would have been eligable for an extention this summer, but he was cut twice so the rookie extention rules don't apply to him. I believe he will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season. | |
