Tribtalk Jazz Fans League:

1st:
Knights of Erisia (ME!!)

2ndFat Table Rapers! (LittleE)
3rdForever Jazz (JazzFan)
4thMu (MuTang)
5thSaint Mur (Saint Louis)
6thDevilDogs (DonG)

Well,
it ended up with the finals being between the two teams that had the 1
and 2 records in the regular season, and THAT never happens. Not a lot
of drama as I won 7-2. The REAL scare was the semi-final where Forever
Jazz (who knocked me out of the "B" league) gave me a scare. But he had
Lebron during "Lebron Takes the Week Off" week and that hurt him. The
deciding point was I won by 2 3-pointers, getting 3 from Chris Bosh of
all people, on the last night (he DID take steals by 1, though, so that
could've gone the other way too). Players resting killed me in two other
leagues, so I didn't feel too guilty.

Another good competitive
season. Honorable Mention has to go to Saint, who had an absolutely
genius draft, and probably should have won EXCEPT for the fact that
among his drafted players were Kevin Love, Pau Gasol, Lou Williams,
Amar'e' Stoude'mi're, and Jokin' Noah, who between them missed 2,000
games. Tough to win when your top draft pick, your #3 and your
sneaky-good "career year" player all miss 50 games or more; (Love, Gasol
and LouW)

I was going to express some sympathy for Calg, whose
great draft (from the #5 spot) of Westbrook/Ibaka/Rondo was hurt badly
by Rondo's injury, but then I saw Marcus Thronton (#4 and a whiff),
Andreas Bargian (#6 and an airball) and Jason Terry (#7...even though
that was a calculated gamble I made in another league). So he EARNED
some misfortune there.

But everybody can look at the draft and
take pride in some picks and wince at others, and everybody had
injuries, and, most importantly, everybody can look at the last couple
weeks and scream "REST??? REST??? WTF? GET OUT THERE AND PLAY!!" Which
is why I end the playoffs before THIS week, when things get completely
random.

Anyway, good job all, better luck next year!! (Super early pre-season tip Don't draft Amdrew Bynum.)

ps) This didn't show the little red "NEW" star in the "General" forum, so I'm putting it here too.)

Yeah, congrats, Troll.

But, in case you didn't notice, I finished only a game and a half between you and me for first place, and only a half game behind the Fat Table Rappers (little E) in the regular season. The top two managers got a bye in the first round and I missed it by a half game. I ended up playing Mu in the first round, and his team played great and my team happened to be unexpectedly injured. If I would have finished a half game better in the regular season, I would have won the league! I didn't get a bye for the first round and lost. If I had just gotten a bye for the first round, I would have beaten anyone else in the second and final rounds.

But, of course, I didn't. Good win. (BTW, great pick up of Jarret Jack-- I honestly did not mean to drop him. I clicked the button and didn't notice till a day later I had clicked the wrong button!) (Also, another of my great draft picks, Thadeus Young, went to someone else after one of those click, click, click drop and adds!) Thanks for the honorable mention. I easily would have won it all if ANY of my big risk picks (Love, Pao, Amare, or Lou Williams) came through. Noah still turned out to be an excellent pick (even though he came up injured in the first round of the playoffs). Actually, Lou Williams was not at all a risky pick-- until a very unexpected season-ending injury. Of course, the early first round pick of Kevin Love really destroyed me, and, I was luck to overcome THAT mistake. Uh, Stef Curry, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Briant, Al Jefferson, the list is embarrassing. Your pick of James Harden was probably the best of the entire draft. Your trading James Harden, though, was pretty questionable! (But, it helped Mu beat my team, so, maybe it was amazing!) Anyway, good league, good season. Congrats, and thanks for running a good league.
