| Millsap out with "knee inflammation".
Wonder if that had anything to do with him not playing in the 4th quarter last night?

| Good damn grief. First half, Knicks w/o Carmelo or Amare, (Jazz w/o Sap), you'd think a hungry and desperate for a win Jazz team could keep this close. Nets 55, Jazz 38 | |

| Soooo...
Favors and DC get the start tonight, I had high hopes for this unit...
At the end of the first half, Favors -23, Jefferson -21, Mo -17. Jazz down 17.

| definitely seen enough of Foye! Dude has been stone cold since before the All-star break. Shooting something like 25%. Is there any reason at all not to be giving Burks his minutes? | |

Damnit, I swore to myself I was going to stop caring about that stuff, but subbing out Demarre early in the third and leaving Foye out there was my tipping point tonight... Jazz down 25 in the third, I'm shutting it down for the weekend.

| What else is new. I'm not going to waste you guys eyes reading my same rants. This was the culmination of the last two months.
Something new though I saw tonight: Gordon Hayward, Mo Williams, Al Jefferson and Derrick Favors all had the same look on their faces; it was that they were tired of Corbins direction. Go back and look..... I believe that Corbin has lost this team.

| Glad I didn't watch this one.
Ugh. Yeah, the guys can play better than they have been.
Bring on McMillan. Or anybody. Bring Jerry back.
Only concern is, McMillan's teams had the slowest pace in the league and I don't know if our point-guardless roster is really suited for 90 grind-it-out possessions every night.

I'd love Jerry with this team. Guys dont play hard, see ya. Is that true Troll? I've forgotten I guess McMillians coaching, but had been feeling like his teams were more faced paced.

Only concern is, McMillan's teams had the slowest pace in the league and I don't know if our point-guardless roster is really suited for 90 grind-it-out possessions every night. Jerry Sloan has been in town lately, a lot. He goes to the Ute basketball games. I saw him sitting a couple of rows back from me at the Ute-Beaver game on Thursday night (that's right, a couple of rows *back*...I'm livin' large, dawgs!) I have to imagine that he's done with coaching in Utah, though, but you never know. If Greg Miller personally came and kissed Jerry's toes, he might be willing to return. It sure would be awkward for Jerry to take over the coaching spot from his former fired assistant coach. The good news is that the young guns on this Jazz team would be all over Jerry's mentality...running hard, making smart plays, hard-nosed defense...they'd all be on board. Ah well, one can dream.

| re: McMillan and other coaches
In another thread, in addition to McMillan, I ventured Phil Johnson and either of the Van Gundys as potential candidates, though I like Jeff better than Stan. Stan's voice grates on me too much; that along with the fact that he looks like he is more suited to coaching competitive eating than coaching basketball. LOL. The only reason I didn't mention Sloan was because I know bringing him back would be very controversial. All the Sloan haters would be up in arms and view it as a step backward instead of a step forward. Personally, I always defended and liked the guy. I think an argument could possibly be made that some of Jerry's 50 plus win teams did not have much more overall talent than this team has, though he had the star power of Stockton and Malone.
I guess McMillan's record is not outstanding, but he won quite a few games in Portland despite being dealt an unlucky hand with the two franchise players', Oden and Roy, constant injury problems. He also made the playoffs a couple of times with Seattle with teams that did not have a particularly high talent level. Nate is a true professional, having made himself a valuable NBA player for 12 seasons: George Karl referred to him as the heart and soul of some of those good Seattle teams in the nineties. He has put in his time as both a player and a coach; he is at a productive age --48, and has been preparing, as we can see from the article above, for his next opportunity as an NBA head coach. On the other hand, Troll may be right about his style not fitting with the Jazz; I don't know.
Regarding Phil, it seems like he did well when he filled in for Jerry. He was willing to try different lineups. Phil has been right here watching all the games so he could step in right now if he was interested in getting back in to coaching. But we have already heard that the Jazz front office is committed to giving Corbin an opportunity at least through the end of the season.
