Man, as a jazz fan it sucks when the season turns into looking forward to the draft...especially with this many games left. But man oh man I hope we end up with Burke.

This is not an overreaction response, but I think the thing to do at this point is to fire TyCo...now. Right now. Hire Hornacek as the interim coach for the rest of the year with no promise of any job next year....give him a shot. He seems intelligent. He can't screw it up more than TyCo has. At the end of the year, open up job and hire the best applicant.

We are officially unable to win now and rebuild and the same time....so it's time to rebuild.

Did the jazz take the fast break out of the play book? Sure the hell aint see one for like a month? I think favors was raped while on the floor. Forgot where you b!tch enough the refs over turn the calls.

Timing-wise, I halfway agree. I don't completely blame Ty for our Jazz woes, but, if we're going to move on with a different coach, and aren't going to make the playoffs this year, then, right now would be a good time to make the move.

I'd feel bad for Ty, though, if we made this move. He was asked to be competitive when we were not only rebuilding, but ditching our best players (D-Will, Boozer, Korver, AK, Memo, and then,Devin Harris), and giving up on Wes Matthews and Kosta Koufos and a few others. I really can't blame Ty for our team, only for him not being able to pick up the pieces and make them work.

I do understand what you're saying. But, that is the job of a coach...to make the pieces work.

I feel bad for TyCo too. I like him, and I really believe under different circumstances he could be a pretty good head coach. I don't blame him as much as I blame Greg Miller, or whoever made the decision. They threw TyCo in there when he just plain wasn't ready.

I don't think you fire him now. Not when you are technically still in the playoff hunt and technically only 1 game back. I think you have to let this season play out. Firing him now isn't going to do anybody any good, it will just create more confusion and uncertainty.

Well, I called it a few weeks ago, that team was done with Tyco, quit on him, whatever it is. These guys can't just feel like they're banging their heads into the wall, and then be expected to keep on ramming those heads in the wall. They just can't. Tyco continues to play all the wrong guys, at all the wrong times, for all the wrong minutes.

Funny though, I actually felt myself wanting more opportunities from Al. I mean, they weren't getting him the ball down low, there were a MASSIVE amount of jumpshots with 15secs left on the shot clock. All his shots were outside, instead of getting it to him on the block. Al Jefferson should of had 30pts last night. But they never even got him the ball down low. I know thats crazy to say more Al, but Favors couldn't score on Thomas, Al should have been able to. And It sure seemed like he wasn't ever able to get a rhythm. Usually it's less Al, but last night I think was one time where it should have been more Al. But Corbin elected to not go there for the one time he should of.

Im torn on firing Tyco right now, 50/50. On one hand, I agree, 1 game out not a good time. On the OTHER hand, I could definitely see this team getting a boost of mojo getting a new voice in there.

Did you guys here Ty's "coaching" when ESPN would cut to him during timeouts???? The dude was saying NOTHING!! Every time they went to him, it wasn't coaching, it was "ok, we gotta be aggessive. Stay aggressive, both ends. Be aggressive." Literally, that was verbatim. Sad.

I understand your point, and normally I would agree with you. However, he has lost this team. Last night was the "stick a fork in 'em" game (most likely). And while they are statistically still in the playoff hunt, let's not kid anyone....they aren't going to make it. Too tough of a row to hoe.

My reasoning behind firing him now is that the Jazz really like to hire from within. This way, it gives them a chance to give Horny a look for a handful of games. No, it may not be the most fair tryout, but at least they can say they gave him a look.

Yes, firing him now may create confusion and uncertainty, but we are there now. We live in confusion and uncertainty. Tell me DC, Evans, Tinsely, even Kanter aren't confused and uncertain right now. The fans sure are. The players are...you can see it in their faces.

Maybe this is why I wouldn't make a good GM, but I sure don't see the problem firing him right now...IF they are going to fire him. Now, if they are stubborn and KNOW 100% they want to retain him, then the point is moot. But if they are planning to let him go, now is as good of a time as any.
