Most of my college friends were Ohio St or Kentucky fans, and they think its funny how much I hate those schools. I tell them, my hate for the Lakers is far greater.

What the Ibaka signing means for the Thunder. Trading or Amnestying Perkins would clear just about the right amount of space...I wonder if they would do that though?

With Dwight in the West, maybe not. LA might, might be the biggest threat to the OKC Thunder. Collison is very good defensively because he probably leads the league in charges taken in his limited minutes. On the ball, im not sure if he is great. Same with Ibaka. Ibaka is great helpside, but not very good on the ball. Perkins really helps negate the huge advantage LA has in the post. Amnestying Perkins also hinders the ammount of money they spend on the supporting cast. I was just saying that is a possiblity, but I do not see it happening. Was just really writing to give more cap analysis, then x's and o's analysis. I could have gone into more detail, but its a heat blog, so I really have to limit the length of the non-heat articles because they go there for Heat stuff. Making it too long turns readers off. (I aint working for SI, ESPN, RealGM, etc.) Thanks for reading.

| It has been very quiet lately, but be ready. Things will be picking up here soon. Got a plethera of articles coming soon. Only about a week from training camp.
Guys I want and avoid in fantasy basketball (2 parter. 5 players each side) Possible 2 parter: things I will watch for each team, or questions for each team. 2 parter is one per conference. 5 major award award predictions. (MVP, Most Improved, 6th man, defensive, and coach. This will probably be a roundtable article though.) Power rankings. (This will come out every Monday during the season. Next monday will be the first, then doing one before opening night, then weekly.)

Preseason power rankings. Enjoy. (My coworkers on the sight think i dramatically overate utah.) Power rankings can be very subjective (especially this early on), so it's hard to argue against your rankings. Do I really think Utah will be on the verge of being a top 10 team? ... I hope so, but I'm not ready to give them that much until I see 4-5 weeks of good balling. I'm guessing they aren't quite as goos as many people in this forum think, but I also think they'll be better than most National "experts" suspect. I also think Portland may suprise people a bit, the Knicks won't live up to your expectations & Boston will die a painful, old, death this year. Good job overall therawns. Quick heads-up. You posted the Bulls recap twice. Once for the Bulls & then again on the Wolves.

Quick heads-up. You posted the Bulls recap twice. Once for the Bulls & then again on the Wolves. Utah finished 14th last year in my rankings. 14th for a team that was on pace to win 44 games in a full season, is pretty spot on. I have them climbing 3 spots, which is not much. I think on the verge of breaking the top 10 is right where they are at.

Guys I am avoiding in drafts. (I will probably get blasted for the top one.) Blasted? nah, I hope everybody feels that way, then I'll snatch up Millsap in the second round and laugh all season as he puts up basically the same numbers he put up last year when he was a top 10 fantasy player (yahoo rankings). It's not very often you get a big that is top 10 in the league in steals per game, on top of being a solid contributor in all of the categories you usually expect form a solid big man. On top of that, I think we might see Millsap add a few three's sweeten the deal this season. Agree with you on Wade and MJ wannabe, not so much on D-Will, and I'm kind of indifferent on Gallinari.

I remember having millsap on a keeper team just waiting for him to start, and break out, at least fantasy wise. Gallo i was kind of indifferent on, but I needed another guy.

Gallo i was kind of indifferent on, but I needed another guy. At least 30 minutes minutes off the bench. Rumors out of camp are that he looks better than ever, and I've always felt that the most likely scenario is that he keeps his starting spot. But if you really want to look at that scenario then the next most likely scenario is his minutes will drop if he doesn't start, but it will be negligible, like 33 minutes a game as a starter and 31 minutes a game off the bench.

James Harden deal. Nicely written, "Matter-of-fact" type of article when it comes to the trade. What I already know, but was the most memorable part of it IMO, was at the very end: "The days of teams salaries being way over the tax threshold line are over. (That is unless you are the Lakers.) That was one of the main points of the new CBA. The irony in all of this is that the new CBA’s tax penalties were supposed to help the small markets like OKC."

Had 2 friends text me the night of the trade, so there was confusion, for some people, and that told me the direction I would go in the article. Its a heat blog first, so i try not to go into too much detail, if it is not a heat article, so sorry if there was not that much analysis, or you did not really learn much.

Latest power rankings. Posted yesterday, so the games last night are not included. I would've put the jazz lower just becuase they're turning into a one on one team and will not make the playoffs just because they have no clue how to share the ball! I seen marv had crap numbers then i watched the game . wide open under the rim and they can't throw em the ball? they gun it or throow it father out for a longer shot? Cant stand watching players wanting to get their owe! The new jazz!
