Fantasy Basketball Updates

The playoffs are upon us in the H2H fantasy basketball world, so I thought I'd share an update on the leagues that involve our JazzNation players. (If there are other leagues that ya'all are playing in, that I'm not part of, please share that info as well.)

In the Jazz Nation/Tribtalk Keeper League (H2H), I lead the league heading into the playoffs. However, I just lost Kyrie Irving for a couple weeks, so I'm not very confident. Troll finished just 0.5 games behind, so we have the bye weeks. Don plays littleE in the 4 vs 5 game. #3 seed Salt Lake City Hooligans (not sure who that is) plays #6 seed Jazzfan in the other Championship Bracket game.

In the non-keeper Jazz Nation/Tribtalk A League (H2H), Troll is the #1 seed & littleE is the #2 (each have byes). This playoff should be VERY interesting since the #1-#6 teams finished with only 3 games seperating them. Mag's & I finished on the outside looking in, but I made a crazy run from near the bottom, to 8th in the last couple months after a TERRIBLE start, even beating Jazzfan last week 6-3, knocking him out of the top spot. (4) Don vs (5) Jazzfan, & (6) Mu vs (3) Saint are the other 2 Championship Bracket games.

Troll, Saint, Jazz Dog & myself also are in a 10 team 100 game max Roto league that I have really enjoyed. Troll is currently in 2nd place by 1 game, but the leader (El Diablo, who was a JazzNation member for a very short time), is going to run out of games played very soon, so I suspect Troll win win this one. Jazz Dog is in 4th, Saint is in 5th, I am in 6th, but based off games played & my own personal opinion, Jazz Dog & I will end up in 3rd & 4th place. (Pure speculation, only time will tell.)


I also have 2 public leage teams. My H2H team finished 3rd heading into the playoffs, but was in a tight race for 1st until I lost Rondo. I'm happy to have AK back & I'm debating on cutting Marion loose, but there aren't many options in the FA pool. I don't think I'll be able to pull this one off, but damnit, I'll try!

My public Roto team is currently in 2nd (trailing by 5 points), but again, injuries are making things tough. I lost Rondo on this team as well, am currently running without Granger & Gasol, and just got Pekovic & AK back, so I have games to make up.

Fun Stuff!

The OTHER other league that has a lot of Jazz Nation/TribTalk members in it is the "B" league. In that one, I made a nice run from and early strong 1st place position to solidly in 6th (and last) playoff spot. My son, Elijah, has run away with the league (using a very strange theory of player acquisition based on FG% and turnovers)* and, with an 8.5 game lead, was thinking about sitting all his players this week, "to rest them". Which is pretty amusing.

"aliveandkickin" is in second, "jordanpushedoff" (which is TomJ, who I think is TJ, a friend of Mutangs'?) is in 3rd with our Brazilian friend "sampaballer" 4th and ptaz in 5th (he's posted here some, I think, but he's been a good competitor in the fantasy leagues).

We have one week to go in this one, and I don't see much changing before the playoffs...but only the first two positions are locked up, 3-6 are separated by 3.5 games.

NOTE ON THE KEEPER LEAGUE: Man, a couple of leagues I've got 50+ games this week, but this one, I was panicking...barely over 40!! omg!! So I went to check my opponent...and I've got the bye!! Woo-freakin'-hoo!! Maybe my two-year streak of bad playoff luck is going to end. Maybe...considering I drafted Royce White and Boris Diaw, if I win, it'll be a miracle.

*-this theory lead him to draft, for Centers, Ty Chandler (4), J.Noah (5), T.Splitter (12) and AMIR JOHNSON in the 14th round! Not bad, and he's dominated FG%, rebounds and blocks every single week. He picked up Josh Smith (1), David West (7) and Thaddeus Young ( for solid PF play and B.Jennings, Dragic, Teague and Calderon for PGs. Very successful theory.

Zero, you need to revisit your update. I'm #3 in the A league, playing against Mu, who is #6. I finished 1.5 games behind Troll, who is in first place. Are you the "Fat Table Rappers?" Cuz, they're in 2nd place.

Can you believe I was all alone in first place 5 weeks ago? Bugger of a year for injuries.

Sorry, I mislabeled the leagues. I was speaking of the keeper league in that situation. I've changed my post.
