| I won't start a new thread for this, but I read in a Toronto publication that the raptors are shopping Calderon pretty hard. Man, I'd love to have him. Trouble is, they want to unload Andrea Bargnani as well, and hopefully as a package. I would love to get Calderon alone. I haven't checked salaries or anything, but would Al get us Calderon straight across? It said Toronto is seeking a true low post center. Maybe Al would do the trick? Ok fine, we can throw in Raja to sweeten the deal. | |

I'll rename the thread. ESPN trade machine allows the deal, straight across, but Toronto would be taking on 5 million extra, so that might be a deal killer. Jefferson and Bell for Calderon and Bargnani also works. But is Toronto willing to give up more talent in order to shed salary ..... and do the Jazz want to deal with the 3 years, 30 million that is due to Bargnani?

| According to Hoopsworld.com, J.J. Redick doesn't want to leave Orlando, but since the Magic have dropped their last six games due to the injury to Glen Davis, Redick may be becoming more expendable.
Ric Bucher reported via Sulia that Chicago, Memphis, Minnesota, Milwaukee and Utah are all interested in Redick's services. He's having a career year and is just entering the heart of his prime. So, the message Hennigan is likely to send is: come hard for J.J. or don't come at all.
Unless Foye is part of that deal, I don't see why the Jazz would take on another undersized SG / 3 point specialist.

The Raptors have to throw in about 1-2 mil to match the salaries between calderon and jefferson.

Biggest difference is im not sure if reddick has as quick of a release as korver. korver has the quickest release in the game, which makes him so deadly coming off screens in atlanta

The Raptors have to throw in about 1-2 mil to match the salaries between calderon and jefferson. In the new CBA, salaries over $9.8 million allow teams to take back up to $5 million more than outgoing, so Calderon for Jefferson straight across works. There is a hard cap limitation on teams that have used certain exceptions (i.e. Chicago this season) but Toronto doesn't fall into this category.

- KG may have vetoed a trade to Denver?
No details included. Just saying that he does not want to go to Colorado. But the article also states, "Garnett said in 2007 that he wouldn't stay in Boston if traded there by the Minnesota Timberwolves".
http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/2/6/3959684/nba-trade-rumors-2013-kevin-garnett-nuggets
Yeah that's what the Clippers need, another fake tough guy. The only problem would be, The Clippers don't have any actual tough guys for KG to hide behind when he opens his mouth. Like he does with Rondo.

| Pulled this out of an article that was written about the possibility of Rose not playing this season:
"Of course, that might not happen if the Bulls make a move by Thursday's trade deadline. League sources said last week the Raptors were told the Carlos Boozer and Nate Robinson deal for Andrea Bargnani and John Lucas III was available whenever they wanted it."
Wow, if it were true, that shows me 2 things; 1) The Bulls are ready to throw in the towel for this year. 2) Boozer's value isn't high..... which I have to admit, makes me smile a little.

| Five years ago, in Luke Ridnour's final season in Seattle, he played with future hall of famer Kevin Durant.
While a reunion with Durant is unlikely, Ridnour could soon call another expected hall of famer a teammate: New York Knick Carmelo Anthony.
The Knicks are one of several teams with interest in the Minnesota Timberwolves guard, according to a league source.
The others to varying degrees are Boston, Philadelphia, Utah and probably a couple more.
Wherever it is, a source close to Ridnour said he's mentally preparing for a trade by Thursday afternoon's deadline.

I don't understand the Warriors interest here, seems like a stupid stupid idea if you ask me.

I don't understand the Warriors interest here, seems like a stupid stupid idea if you ask me. Gordon is probably better than Klay right now, but with his laundry list of injuries, and not knowing Klay's full potential, I would assume that it would have to have something to do with unloading a contract like Andris Biedrins or Richard Jefferson as well. Thompson/Biedrins for Gordon works on the Trade Machine, and also gives another big body to a NO's team who only has A.Davis, R.Lopez, and Jason Smith as true big's. (R.Anderson is there as well.) But that would leave GS on the hook for Gordon (4 yrs, $13+mil), Bogut (2 yrs $13 mil), Lee (4 yrs $12+mil) & Jefferson (2 yrs $10 mil). They do all come off the books before Curry & Barnes become FA's though. However, I'm with you magnus .... I don't really get it either.

| Nets, Celtics Talk Trade For Paul Pierce Feb 20, 2013 5:12 PM EST
The Brooklyn Nets have held trade talks with the Boston Celtics on a deal for Paul Pierce, according to sources.
The Nets are offering Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and a first round pick for Pierce.
But the Celtics reportedly want more for Pierce if they are to trade him.
"The Celtics still highly value Pierce and it wouldn't make sense to trade him for that kind of a package if they're keeping Kevin Garnett," one league source said.
The Celtics are interested in Mirza Teletovic and possibly an additional first rounder.
Pierce has spent his entire career with the Celtics, but has been mentioned in trade talks as recently as last season with the Nets as well.

Will Bynum Likely To Stay With Pistons Past Deadline Feb 20, 2013 5:29 PM EST
Barring a last-second deal forming, Will Bynum will likely stay with the Detroit Pistons past Thursday’s trade deadline, agent Mark Bartelstein told RealGM.
Bynum had seemed expendable once the Pistons traded for Jose Calderon, but he has averaged 10.6 points in seven games since Calderon joined the lineup and Detroit appears locked into its current roster to end the season.
Bynum, 30, is in the last year of his contract, averaging 9.2 points and 3.8 assists over 45 games.

| Grizzlies get Dexter Pittman and from the Heat, and get a second round pick for their trouble.
Congradulations Dexter Pittman you have negative trade value!
Correction, the Heat actually got the rights to Ricky Sanchez (who? exactly), so I guess Pittman just has no trade value.

Word is, Fab melo is the primary other player involved. EDIT: Now there are reports that it DOESN'T involved Fab. Also.... Brian Windhorst @WindhorstESPN 1 minute ago Heat will get rights to Ricky Sanchez, who is playing in Argentina at moment, as part of Pittman deal.

Remember when Telfair got his shoe contract before he even got drafted? .... now he's being swapped for Haddidi, who averages more fouls than points, rebounds or blocks. lol Chris Broussard @Chris_Broussard 2 minutes ago In addition to Haddadi, Phoenix also gets 2nd round pick from Toronto for Telfair.
